Future Shock reading with Larissa Lai, author of The Tiger Flu,  and Rabindranath Maharaj, author of Adjacentland.

In this series of readings, visiting and local authors explore societies and individuals experiencing rapid change on a massive scale.

In Larissa Lai‘s The Tiger Flu, a community of exiled women go to war against disease, technology, and an economic system that threatens them with extinction.

In Rabindranath Maharaj‘s new work, Adjacentland, a man awakens in a strange institution with no memory. In a struggle to understand what has happened, he learns of Adjacentland, a land of misfits and the only place where imagination has survived.

Moderated by Sean Cranburyfreelance writer and founder of the Real Vancouver Writers’ Series.

This event takes place in the new Rooms 919 and 920 on Level 9.
